Productive Weekend

As everyone knows, I am a bit neurotic when it comes to cleaning my house. Since I was entertaining company on Sat, I figured I would clean my house from top to bottom. I started Friday afternoon. I cleaned everything--all the vents, blinds, baseboards, shelves, basically everything I knew hadn't been visited in a bit. The best part of it all is that I found how amazingly powerful my vacuum is! I was very pleased! It wasn't easy cleaning with Bailey around. She is such a nosy little booger. She followed me everywhere and had to smell everything I had just cleaned! Oh man...she is entertaining!

Saturday morning, Evan cleaned the backyard while I finished running around and finishing up the cleaning. My dogs are like little kids when it comes to the lawnmower and watching him do the yard. This picture shows how much they love it! Needless to say, the house cleaning went well and I was exhausted!! But now I can relax for a few days. Woo Hoo!

Dbacks Game

Friday, Molly took Miah and Jake to a DBacks game. These 3 together are too cute. Jake really enjoys hanging out with them and having fun. They all act silly so it is cute to see how well they get along. It makes me happy to see my brothers so goofy, happy and enjoying life. That's what it's all about! Our Lady of Guadalupe

Jake participated in The Our Lady of Guadalupe festival at Westgate on the 8th. They held Mass in the jobing.com arena and Jake got to sit on the outside of the floor with the other alter servers. It was very cool for him to experience. He got asked by the Priest at OLPH (his elementary school) to come and help teach new alter servers that join. Jake was very honored to be asked and is looking forward to doing that. Here are a few pics of the event and Jake with his BFF John Georges.

Camping

Every year, we go camping either for Father's Day or for Mom & Jake's Bdays. Jake wanted to camp in Sedona, but sadly, it was jam packed! So my Dad headed to Flagstaff and ended up on Lake Mary. It was beautiful! Everyone went down on Fri the 24th of July but me and Bubba headed up there on Saturday for the night. We had a nice ride up there. It poured rain and Bubba freaked out a little, but we arrived safely. Jake had two of his friends come along, Victor and Jamie. My mom made meat for tacos, beans and rice for dinner. It was amazing! Bubba snuck in and managed to eat some meat that had dropped. It was a very nice and enjoyable night! Here are some picture that were taken of the trip.

Their 1st night

A New Beginning

I have always been a fan of these blogs and figured I shouldn't have one because I am not getting married or have kids to gush about, but I figured I should go ahead and start this for the little family I do have. I decided to start this now because Miah is starting out on a new adventure in his life, and, quite frankly, a new chapter for us all is about to begin. Since it is something new, and this hardly happens in our family, I found this to be a perfect opportunity to start! So brace yourselves---our lives are full of excitement! :)

Miah is leaving us next Thursday, the 20th, to head to San Diego CC for baseball. Its is a very bittersweet feeling for me. Miah is one of the sweetest people I know. He has always been giving of himself and would do anything for me. I heart him! He is going to be missed terribly and I don't know what we will do without him. But I am very proud of his determination and perseverance. He wants to play baseball so he is finding his way to making his dreams come true. How awesome is that! If only we all had his focus, his strength to keep going, and his positive outlook on things, we could accomplish anything! I will keep this updated as his dreams develop--we are planning a dinner for him on Sat at my house and I will post pics as soon as I can!
